Roughly 10–12 minutes from Guil Station Exit 1 along Gyeongin-ro

• Seoul Station -> Line 1 toward Incheon or Dongincheon -> Guil. Not a Cheonan train: Line 1 splits at Guro and the Cheonan side never touches Guil.
• Hongdae / Myeongdong -> Line 2 -> Sindorim transfer -> Line 1 -> Guil
• Gangnam -> Line 2 -> Sindorim -> one stop to Guil or taxi
• ICN -> AREX -> Line 1 transfer, or airport bus toward Yeongdeungpo + taxi

Reading the seat map

What the tiers at Gocheok Sky Domeactually give you, and what the Korean on your ticket means. The stage position and the block letters are set by each production, so use this to understand the room and the seller’s own chart to understand your show.

Floor (플로어)

Laid over the infield for a concert. Flat, like every floor built on a ballpark, and the far end of it is a long way from the stage in a room this size.

Level 1 (1층, zones 101–132)

The bowl's lowest ring. The low 100s sit on the infield side, nearest the stage end, and they are the ones that clear first.

Levels 2 and 3 (2–3층, zones 201–222 and 301–334)

Middle decks. Far enough back to hold the whole stage in one view, which for a dome show is most of the point.

Level 4 (4층, zones 401–435)

The top deck, and the one Korean fans warn each other about: a steep pitch and a narrow angle onto the stage. If your ticket starts with a 4, plan on watching the screens.

• The zone number is the useful part. The venue's own chart runs 101–132, 201–222, 301–334 and 401–435, counted clockwise from the infield, so the first digit is your floor before you have looked at anything else.
• It is a baseball stadium, so a concert uses a slice of it. The floor covers the infield, the stage takes one end, and whatever sits behind the stage is dropped from sale.
• Alongside the numbered zones the chart carries T and S blocks (T01–T07, T11–T17, S01–S16) and the VIP and broadcast positions in the middle, which is where the odd-looking seat labels on a resale listing come from.

Getting home after the show

• Line 1 packs quickly at Guil; walking back toward Sindorim can be faster than squeezing onto the first train. That is crowd advice for the hour right after a show, not a late-night plan: it is roughly 2 km, so if you are anywhere near the cutoffs below, take the train you can see.
• Sindorim's Line 2 platform is the relief valve for anyone heading to Hongdae or the north side.
• Group of 3–4? A short taxi to Sindorim or Yeongdeungpo usually beats the platform crush.
• The trap at Guil is the destination, not the clock. On a weekend the last two departures toward Seoul, 00:04 and 00:19, both terminate at Guro. That is one stop up the line and it is Line 1 only, so there is nothing to change onto. The last train that reaches Sindorim, Yeongdeungpo and Seoul Station is 23:49, and the last one carrying on to Jongno 3-ga, Dongdaemun and Cheongnyangni is 23:36.
• A weekday show is about an hour more forgiving and has the same shape: 23:36 to Gwangwoondae, then 23:58 to Dongmyo as the last one through central Seoul, then 00:14 and 00:27 which both stop at Guro.
• Staying in Hongdae changes the answer, because the connection dies before the trains do. Sindorim's last weekend Line 2 to Hongik University leaves at 23:50, and the 23:49 out of Guil does not pull in until 23:55. The train you actually need is the 23:36, which puts you at Sindorim at 23:42 with eight minutes to change. On a weekday Line 2 runs there until 00:49 and none of this bites. Watch the 23:47 at Sindorim too: it goes to Kkachisan on the Sinjeong branch, which heads west, not toward Hongdae.
• Heading the other way, to Bupyeong or Incheon, the last from Guil is 23:49 on a weekend and 23:56 on a weekday, and both run the full line. The 23:27 stops at Bupyeong.
